On the weekend of June 29 through to July 1, I had an opportunity to participate in one of the most inspiring events of the year, Singapore Art Book Fair 2018. As an exhibitor and a second-time visitor to Singapore, I was quite fascinated by the local publication culture particularly from a self-publishing point of view. There were numerous published work that had have inspired me to spend as much time outside the fair to explore the scenes of Singapore. I did not intend to visit any known landmarks, but rather spent most of my time off the tracks, getting to know bits and pieces outside the city central. What I particularly loved about Singapore is how symmetry it can be. Not only it introduces an aesthetic that I'm not familiar with, but it also brings me plenty of creative inspirations for my next body of work (which I hope to launch at next year's Singapore Art Book Fair).
