Melbourne Tram Museum
One of the first things that comes to mind when I think or hear about Melbourne is the fascinating culture of trams—yes, always before coffee. Melbourne proudly claims a title of world's largest operational urban tram network, consisting of over 250 kilometres of double track. Alongside one of these tracks is the historic Hawthorn Tram Depot, now operating as Melbourne Tram Museum.
As much as I usually enjoyed watching the trams ruling the city's streets, I occasionally paid visits to this museum for a rare sighting of the good old trams. They always gave me goosebumps (the exciting kind) as I roamed through the alleyways of trams, hopped on and off and rang a few ding-dings.
The following photography series does not purposefully capture every model of the trams nor their informative insights. Instead it displays my artistic interpretation of what I love observing during my many visits to this incredible tram depot—this includes rare perspectives, close-ups, reflections and letterings.
